Worktop bolts are needed when you have a corner or strait run joint to hold the two boards in place while Colourfill for laminate and adhesive for solid surface sets to stop the joint creeping open.

Three bolts per worktop joint are required. The fitter will cut a half "dog bone" shape out of the underside of each side the worktops joint, flip the worktops over and lay the bolt in the reveal, then tighten with a spanner to pull the worktops joint together.

For laminate worktops you also need Colourfill before you do the joint up, and solvent to clean off the excess from the joint when the Colourfill oozes out of the joint when the bolts are tightened. For Encore you need adhesive and the application gun.  Solid wood does not need any glues or adhesive.

Phone the fitter and ask if you need these if you are not sure, or if he already has these, as some fitters carry bags of bolts on the van in stock. We do offer a cutting service if you are not sure about all of this.
